Member states from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will keep on marketing diversity of culture and also the harmonious coexistence of various peoples, stated Minister of Culture Cai Wu in the Ninth Meeting of Cultural Ministers of SCO Member States, that is being locked in Beijing from Monday to Thursday.

Participants incorporated Darkhan Mynbay, minister of culture and knowledge in Kazakhstan Ibragim Zhunusov, minister of culture and tourism in Kyrgyzstan Pavel Khoroshilov, vice-minister of culture in Russia Mirzoshokhrukh Asrori, minister of culture in Tajikistan and B. S. Saifullaev, first vice-minister of culture and sports in Uzbekistan.
Associates from SCO observer states India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan, dialogue partners Belarus and Sri Lanka, guest of presidency Afghanistan and also the SCO Secretariat also attended the meeting.
The SCO is definitely an intergovernmental mutual security organization which was founded in Shanghai in 2001. The Meeting of Cultural Ministers of SCO Member States was started in Beijing in 2002.
The theme with this year’s meeting is the introduction of an agenda for cultural cooperation from the SCO within the next ten years. Throughout the meeting, associates of member states signed the Beijing Declaration for that Meeting of Cultural Ministers of SCO Member States.
“This is actually the first declaration document for that cultural ministers’ meeting, that is a milestone that’ll be recorded within the good reputation for the SCO,” Cai states.
The meeting also passed the 2012-14 Implementation Arrange for Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between SCO Member States.
Cultural ministers of member states decided to enhance cooperation in protecting historic and cultural heritage, and also to join hands to operate around the inscription of cultural projects, like the Silk Road, on UNESCO’s world heritage list.
“In the meeting we arrived at consensus that people must start with youthful people, because youthful individuals are the core in our culture and also the major driver of future development,” stated the Kazak minister of culture and knowledge.
The tenth Meeting of Cultural Ministers of SCO Member States is going to be locked in 2013 in Kyrgyzstan.
